One purchase is a licence for one group of up to 6 players (the person who paid plus up to 5 others) to play DO YOU DARE, an online escape room played in a web browser. It starts when your payment is taken and lasts 30 days. Within that time you can play solo or host a group, stop and pick up where you left off, and replay it. The person who paid is the host: they sign in with the email address used at checkout, and only they can start a game on the pass. Everyone else joins with the game's code and their own email address, confirmed with a one-time code we email them; joining is free.
The pass belongs to the group. The first people to join a game on it (up to 6 including the host) become its group, and the same people can replay it as many times as they like during the 30 days, as long as the host who paid is hosting. Once the group is full, other people can't join games on that pass and would need their own. The host can swap someone out of the group to free a place, a small number of times per pass (two by default), and someone removed can't rejoin that pass. A pass is for one group, not for passing round between groups. Each player needs their own device. The game takes most groups 60 to 90 minutes.
You need a reasonably recent browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox) and an internet connection for the whole game.
If you get access with a free voucher code instead of buying, these same terms apply to that licence, for the player count and number of days the code gives. A voucher has no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and may carry its own expiry date or use limit.
The price is shown before you pay and includes any VAT due. You are charged once, in pounds or dollars depending on where you are. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
We sometimes test different prices, so the price you see may not be the price someone else sees at the same time. The price shown to you on the checkout page is always the price you pay, and nothing is added afterwards.
DO YOU DARE is digital content. At checkout you ask us to give you access straight away (for a pre-order, when the game opens) and confirm that you understand this means you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once access begins (for a pre-order, once you first start playing after it opens). Access begins as soon as your payment is taken.
As a goodwill promise on top of the law: if you ask within 14 days of buying and nobody in your group has started a game yet, we will refund you in full. Email us from the address you bought with.
The game must work as described. If it doesn't (it won't load, your access doesn't appear, or something on our side is broken), email us and we will fix it or, if we can't, refund you. This is on top of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which these terms do not affect.
DO YOU DARE is rated 16+. Each game carries its own rating and content warning on its own site. THE STILL ROOM is a ghost story built to frighten: sudden jump scares, loud sounds and brief flashes of light. Please read the health notice on the disclaimer page before you play.
The licence is for your group's own play. Please don't share your sign-in or post a game code publicly, resell access, or try to interfere with the game or other players. We can suspend a licence being used that way, after telling you why.
We love it when you share our games. Post about it, review it, stream it, clip your best jumps. Thank you: it genuinely helps a small team.
One ask: please keep it spoiler-free. Don't show or share solutions, codes, how the puzzles are solved, or the ending. Nobody likes the person who spoils it, and it ruins the night for the next group.
There's no need to look anything up either: every game has a full hint system built in, all the way to the answer.
The story, puzzles, art, audio and text are our copyright. If something that gives a game away is published, we'll ask the person who posted it to take it down first, and may use the platform's copyright process if it stays up. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
If we break these terms we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result, up to the price you paid. We are not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, for business loss, or for problems caused by your own device or connection. Nothing here limits our liability where the law says it can't be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there. If there's a problem, please email us first: most things can be sorted quickly.
